The most common question people ask when they learn I’m a hypnotist is whether hypnosis is real. As you might imagine, there are people who believe everything they see in the movies. Which means that many people have been hypnotized into believing that hypnosis is mind control.
Which is true to some extent, since you can use hypnosis to control your mind. That’s right, you read that correctly. You can use hypnosis for a better life by changing how you think. And you can do that in the blink of an eye because hypnosis works that fast. While I’m certainly the hypnotist in this equation, you’re the one who’s in control.
At the same time, for the sake of full disclosure, you should know that I’m a master hypnotist. Which means that as you read these words, you can follow the sound of my voice.
Because all writers paint pictures with their words and those lyrics may dance in your head. With that in mind, as you read these words, they may resonate with you, as if they are your own. You may get lost in the story, just as you do while reading a book or watching a favorite movie.
So as you follow the sound of my voice, prepare to experience a deeper state of hypnosis now. You are about to discover that hypnosis is real and how everything we do is Hypnoformance. It practically goes without saying that you should read this article in the proper environment because hypnosis feels a lot like daydreaming.

Here’s a little hypnotic experiment for you to try. Ask one thousand hypnotists or hypnotherapists whether hypnosis is real. The answer, of course, depends on what they’ve been hypnotized to believe. Some will say yes, hypnosis is real and be quite emphatic about it.
You’re not likely to find anybody who doesn’t believe in the power of hypnosis. But quite a few hypnotherapists might ask you to ponder what is real. And that is an interesting concept, is it not? Because as you know, our imaginations are capable of creating amazing experiences.
Some of those experiences are created by the imagination when we read a book or watch a movie. What most people don’t realize is that you can be hypnotized. In fact, you could be in a state of hypnotic trance, right now.
You may experience trance states while focusing on anything intently. Many people go into a deep trance while scrolling through Facebook or Instagram. Notice how they can seem lost in a trance, going deeper and deeper now, feeling more and more comfortable, able to focus intently.
Many people go into hypnosis quickly and easily, it’s like watching television. You can imagine, visualize, picture, or pretend, that you are hypnotized now. Enjoying that comfortable feeling, or just zoning out and letting go.
Once you learn to recognize that state of trance, you’ll be able to enjoy it more and more, going in and out of that hypnotic trance quickly and easily. And you’ll notice, as you enjoy that comfortable feeling. Relaxing more and more, as you go deeper and deeper now.
Some people say we have trance states for everything we do, that hypnosis is completely natural. And that we automatically enter a trance every fifty to fifty-five minutes. Allowing the mind to relax, let go and reboot, so that you may go forward feeling awake and refreshed.
Sometimes I wonder whether everything we do are just different states of hypnosis. Like the state of hypnosis that you are in right now! Which means you may be hypnotized and feeling absolutely wonderful. As if you are walking down the stairs, entering a beautiful garden.
Pausing for a moment to breathe deeply and exhale slowly before moving down the stairs. Holding on to that secure handrail. Enjoying those nice deep steps that will take you deeper and deeper into that beautiful place.
And you may begin to count down in your mind now.
As you move out onto step ten.
Continuing down to step nine.
Going deeper and deeper with eight.
Relaxing more and more at four.
One, taking a nice deep breath in.
And at zero, letting it all out. Feeling more and more comfortable. Listening to the sounds all around you, lulling you comfortably.
Relaxing more and more. Going deeper and deeper into that wonderful state of deep hypnotic trance that you can now enter quickly and easily, able to use self-hypnosis for a better life.
Any time, any place, whenever you want to feel better, feel happier, experience more self-control and higher self-esteem. And all of those other things that you desire to improve, getting better and better with each and every day!
Knowing that we use words to create a deeper state of hypnotic trance. Which enables us to open the imaginary door to that subconscious mind and introduce suggestions that improve your life! Suggestions for the behavioral changes and modifications you desire. Which makes it easier and easier for you to experience positive changes in your life quickly and easily now.
With this in mind, you can wonder about all the ways you can use hypnosis to improve your life.
Which is interesting because hypnosis is the best way to create suggestibility in the mind. You may know people who use self-hypnosis to relax and create new habits and beliefs.
And who wouldn’t benefit from being able to relax more and more now? Imagine being able to let the tensions and pressures of the day, just fade away. What would that be like? How much better will you feel as you relax more and more? Going deeper and deeper, feeling ten times more comfortable.
At the same time, you may discover it becomes easier and easier to focus on what I’m saying. Because many people notice feeling more alert and having more energy. Some people say that hypnosis is like experiencing deep, deep sleep. And yet, you are never unconscious or actually asleep during hypnosis. Rather you feel more alert and your senses become sharper.
Although this may be true, many people believe hypnosis is deep, deep sleep of the most wonderful kind. Which is a myth that is perhaps the fault of hypnotists themselves, because we use the words deep sleep (and snap our fingers) as you go deeper and deeper into the hypnotic state.
You might be wondering how hypnosis works. Pondering whether you can go deeper now. Feeling more comfortable with being able to let go and drift deeper, and deeper, and even ten times deeper. Enjoying those feelings of comfort and deep relaxation because perception is projection and projection is perception.
Thus, we are simply using the power of the subconscious mind to create the wonderful life of your dreams. Which is pretty cool if you think about it. That you can create a better life by harnessing the power of your subconscious mind, creating virtually any belief or emotional state you desire.
Can you imagine, visualize, picture, or pretend Alice in Wonderland, asking the Queen whether Hypnosis Is Real? The Queen might quip “I daresay you haven’t had much practice. When I was your age, I always did it for half-an-hour a day. Why sometimes I’ve believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast”.
As you can see, the Queen does not tell us what to think or what to believe, but rather acknowledges that the wise one within knows the answers you seek.
At the same time, she does suggest that you practice self-hypnosis several times per day. Which might explain how you can believe in so many incredible things. Because the subconscious mind contains incredible powers of creation.
Which means that whether or not you believe in the power of hypnosis, you can still enjoy all the benefits. That is the power of the subconscious mind. Hypnosis is simply the method we use to tap into that creative mind.
And with that, the Queen of Wonderland gives us something else to ponder because the mind and body automatically enter the hypnotic state quickly and easily now. Which explains why it’s possible to believe in your ability to do practically anything you set your mind to.
You may go deeper down the rabbit hole of that subconscious mind now, so that you may experience all the benefits of hypnosis. One of which is being able to use time more effectively, regardless of how it seems to speed up or slow down.
Which is something to consider because when you are hypnotized, time just seems to slip away. And that enables you to concentrate on the things that are most important. Feeling self-assured, enjoying that confident feeling of knowing that you have all the time in the world.
Which makes sense if you think about it because time is a relative concept. Isn’t that what our friend Albert Einstein taught us?
That time may pass faster or slower for different people, even as they experience the same moment in time together.
And as you ponder that, you may also take a moment to wonder whether hypnosis is real.
Because it’s time to unlock your full potential. For there was a different time when Alice asked: “How long is forever?”
To which the White Rabbit playfully replied: “Sometimes, just one second.”
The author Lewis Carroll wrote that “Everything is funny if you can laugh at it.” Which certainly is something to remember because hypnosis is a very funny thing.
Many people experience a greater sense of happiness and joy after hypnosis.
You might be feeling like you want to laugh or smile right now, suddenly remembering something very funny that makes you feel fantastic!
You may experience mild states of hypnosis while reading or listening to this material. Upon completion, you may feel more alert, enjoying a greater sense of inner peace. Feeling calm, grounded, and more confident. Enjoying an incredible sense of motivation, as you move towards your goals.
Or perhaps if you’re reading or listening to this before bed, you can just drift off and enjoy a restful nights sleep. Snapping out of the state of hypnosis at any time, by simply saying your first name in your mind.

And as you might imagine, if you have to ask yourself that question, then you are hypnotized. At the same time, you can go deeper now, just by wondering what does it feel like to go even deeper now?
Just imagine, visualize, picture, or pretend that you’re already in that deeper state of hypnosis. Where you can imagine Alice going deeper, and deeper, down that rabbit hole. Going further and farther down into the wonders of Wonderland.

Following the sound of my voice as I tell you a story about this old commercial from way, back, then. There was this company called Memorex that made cassette tapes for hypnosis recordings like this.
One commercial featured Ella Fitzgerald, a singer with an amazing voice. She sang a note so incredibly sharp, it shattered a wine glass in the commercial. The next thing you see is more wine glasses breaking, one after the other, as you continue to listen to Ella’s performance playing over and over again.
Which depends on your perspective, of course.
Some people say this: perception is projection.
While other people say that: projection is perception.
You may wonder about that now, realizing that both opinions may be right. At the same time, you can also see, that what we call memories are similar to recordings.
However, there is a difference between what is real and what is not. And while this may be true, sometimes those wine glasses may break either way. On the other hand, perhaps that’s because of the intensity those memories are being played back.
At the same time, you know that memories are not the same as recordings. They’re based on perceptions and subject to interpretations, which are often influenced by deletion and distortion.
Thus, you could say that memories are nothing more than how we choose to remember those moments in life. Which means that you can change the meaning of an event by simply choosing to see things differently. Which is something that people do quickly and easily in hypnosis all the time.
Being able to let go of the past and enjoy this moment right now. Looking forward into the future, knowing that you can enjoy a positive outlook in life, no matter what challenges you may face. You have the knowledge and the strength, and the resources within to enjoy life to the fullest.
Enjoying the irony of our ability to ponder questions like is hypnosis real?
Or wonder whether hypnosis is real?
Knowing that it doesn’t matter either way.
Hypnosis is just another tool in your mental toolbox.
You may go in and out of the hypnotic state now, quickly and easily whenever you desire.
Using the power of your subconscious mind to elevate your emotional state and experience everything more fully. Knowing that you can create and enjoy a state of bliss, happiness, and experience more joy in the blink of an eye.
With all of this experience, you are now able to answer the question whether hypnosis is real with increased confidence and a greater sense of self-esteem.
